Elastic#
The ElasticFrame section implements a general linear elastic Frame cross-section.
Local axes of a 3D cross section#

A shape object representing the cross-sectional geometry.

Young’s modulus \(E\) and shear modulus \(G\) (see Elastic Isotropic) [1]
- A: float
- Iy: float
Moment of inertia about the \(\color{green}{y}\) axis, \(I_y\) [1] [2]
- Iz: float
Moment of inertia about the \(\color{blue}{z}\) axis, \(I_z\) [1] [3]
- J: float
Torsion constant [3]. Units of length 4.
- Ay: float
Shear area in the \(\color{green}{y}\) direction, \(A_y\). Optional, defaults to \(A\). Units of length 2.
- Az: float
Shear area in the \(\color{blue}{z}\) direction, \(A_z\). Optional, defaults to \(A\). Units of length 2.
